Spend a day working with our team. Learn skills whilst actively contributing to our permaculture projects.
42 Acres is a wellbeing retreat, regenerative farm and nature reserve. Our vision is to reconnect with nature, self and others. Our regenerative "Soil-to-Gut" philosophy continues the traditions of the past and supports our shared future. We grow, forage and wild-tend in ways that serve the health of people and the planet. We believe that as we nourish the soil, we nourish ourselves.
This energy exchange is an invitation to spend the day working with our team both in our regenerative market garden and our 100% edible ornamental garden. Learn new skills whilst actively contributing to our permaculture projects.
The day is designed to be an enriching experience working with us on tasks ranging from planting bulbs to foraging wild teas, from hugelkultur to sowing wildflowers. There will be an opportunity for meditation, sharing and nature connection.
You're welcome to stay and explore our land afterwards - take a wild dip in our lake, discover our secret treehouse or Badger Metropolis!

WebsiteInstagramFacebookAs Head Ornamental Gardener at 42 Acres, Russell sees his role as creating and maintaining beautiful spaces where people can focus on self-reflection, diversify their diet, engage with nature and connect with others in a meaningful way. He loves conveying a feeling with plants, whilst creating a haven for wildlife and opening eyes to what is edible in the garden.
WebsiteInstagramFacebookGuy has worked in horticulture for 4 years, starting out in perfectly-manicured, weed-free “Downton Abbey” type estates. But he felt that keeping things so perfect was unsustainable, unnatural and boring. As an Ornamental Gardener here at 42, Guy is excited to work with wilder spaces. He enjoys finding the balance between creating a beautiful garden, but also giving it space to breathe and let nature do its thing. He has an interest in edible perennials and is creating a food forest system in his front garden at home.
