Join us as we get closer to the life cycle of plants and deepen our connection with nature. Leave with a living part of 42 acres - ethical, local, organic seed to plant and grow.

About this event

All seeds contain a story. They carry a memory of the soil in which they've grown, and possess within them all the information they need to transform. Seed stories are also part of our community - seeds have been traditionally passed down through generations, connecting crops and flowers to local culture and cuisine.

Join us as we get closer to the life cycle of plants and deepen our connection with nature. Learn how different plants reproduce, and how the gardeners at 42 acres harvest, clean, dry, and store a variety of seeds from our beautiful, edible ornamental gardens.

Saving seed is a vital aspect of food sovereignty. By repeatedly saving seed from the healthiest plants on our own plots, we can grow and share plants well-suited to our location. This practice helps to promote biodiversity, autonomy, good health and accessibility to food. It's a fascinating, rewarding experience.

You'll leave with a living part of 42 acres - ethical, local, organic seed to plant and grow. Plus, the skills that will allow you to continue the cycle at home and become part of the story.

*All our seeds are open-pollinated and open-source. Please feel free to share, re-use and breed them as you wish (as long as you don't restrict others from using them).
