‘Can’t recommend highly enough. Booked this place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and my wife spent the entire time saying ‘I can’t believe you found the PERFECT place!’ We had an absolutely magical time, saw beavers, deer, herons, hares and loads of other wonderful nature. The boat is super cosy, and sitting on the little dock just enjoying the surroundings was blissful.’

‘What a amazing experience we’ve just had at 42 Acres. We stayed in Monks Hatch, a beautiful 2 bedroom cottage, with amazing views over the countryside. We saw 3 deer grazing in the field next to the cottage, the famous hare, and a huge red fox. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending 42 Acres to anyone wanting a chill out few days in nature filled countryside. This must have been the most relaxing break we’ve ever had.’

‘We chose 42 Acres for a countryside retreat, and it was so relaxing. We loved the quiet location and the house was very spacious and comfortable! We really enjoyed the wood fired sauna and the treehouse – so magical! We had a private chef on the Friday night for a delicious 3 course dinner, field to fork ingredients… it was perfect! We’ll definitely be back.’

‘We had a lovely stay at the Swallows Nest. We didn’t want to leave. Swallows Nest was spotless, beds were comfy. We had everything we needed. The setting is amazing, quite unique. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and the girls loved the tree house. The lake was also a hit, we enjoyed swimming and using the boats and paddle boards. Would highly recommend and hope to return one day soon.’

Take some time to explore all the grounds, the beaver trails, the tree house and the very calming woods. The boat is a lovely, snuggly place to stay with a great hot shower if it’s chilly in the morning. Highly recommend the experience!.’

‘The most incredible location with fantastic, long walks on the doorstep on which you rarely see anyone else and are just immersed in nature. The barn itself is well designed with comfortable sofas from which to watch TV and relax. Good power on the shower, well heated, and lots of hot water! A great stay and we shall definitely be back.’

‘A beautiful boat in a beautiful location. We were surrounded by wildlife and spent hours exploring the area around the boat. We loved being woken by noisy geese and hearing the beavers slapping their tails on the water! We’d love to come back soon!’

’42 acres is beautifully presented, the kitchen was well equipped, the giant projector was great and everything was clean and tidy with plenty of space for 4. The surroundings were beautiful, we had some lovely walks and saw the amazing things the site had to offer. We loved the stay and would definitely come back.’

Though we weren’t lucky enough to spot the beavers, our 2 boys loved rambling around the lake and exploring the treehouse… Wellies recommended!
